Welcome to Sir John Gleed – a non-selective academy sponsored by CfBT. Our aim is to provide an outstanding alternative to the grammar system for Spalding and its surroundings.
Sir John Gleed School has been judged ‘an improving school’ in its latest Ofsted report (May 2015), which sees the academy no longer in need of ‘special measures’. Inspectors visited the school and found that students were calm and well-behaved, with those on vocational courses achieving well as a result of effective teaching. They also noted recent improvements in teaching and leadership, including a training scheme that develops staff into coaches who support the work of others, and described governors as skilled and beginning to hold school leaders to account.
High expectations in terms of behaviour, with a firm, fair code of conduct are applied consistently and these are understood by students, teachers and parents.  Positive, high profile rewards mean that our students develop good working relationships with their teachers.
We are always pleased to show parents around the school – just contact us to arrange a suitable time.
Will Scott - Head of Academy
